Privacy Policy
The following information details how PELICAN processes personal data, why we use it, how long it is kept for and what are a student’s rights.
Who stores and protects the information?
The company in charge of handling student personal data is the Jazyková Škola PELICAN, located on Lidická 695/9, Brno, 602 00, registration number 26950189 registered at King’s Court, Brno, Section C, insert 47626 (hereafter referred to as the Administrator).
When is personal data used?
A student’s personal data is used during the application process and the distribution of newsletters within the meaning of EU Regulation No 20161679 of the European Parliament and of the European Council on the protection of individuals with regards to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data and repealing of Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) (hereafter referred to as the ‘Regulation’).
In the case of subscriptions, the following data is used:
- Email Address
- Name and Surname
- Telephone Number
- Address
- Date of Birth
- Payment Method
The personal data used forms an essential part of the language school’s organisation and records. It will also be used by the school to communicate with its students. Processing of any of the aforementioned personal data is valid under Article 6, Paragraph. 1 (a). b) Regulation. The administrator will keep this personal data for a maximum of 3 years, starting from the date the subscription is made, unless the student consents to any further processing of his/her’s personal data.
In the case of distributing newsletters, the following data will be used:
- Email Address- The student may cancel his/hers subscription to the newsletter at any time. The administrator will keep onto this data for a maximum of 5 years, starting from the day the subscription is made, unless the student agrees to any further processing of his/hers personal data
Who else has access to your personal data?
The Administrator uses other processing tools, who may have access to the student’s personal data.
The following processing tools may have access to your personal data:

- Webmaster
What are a student’s rights?
Under the Data Protection Act, a student has the right to:
- Ask the company about how their personal data is used and about any potential copies of their personal data.
- Ask the company to explain why their personal data is being used.
- Request access to their personal data and have it either updated or corrected
- Ask the organisation to erase their personal data. By erasing their personal data from the system, all cooperation between the student and the organisation will be terminated.
- Contact the organisation, the Office for Personal Data Protection or the Court, if they have any doubts about the organisation complying with its legal duties concerning the processing of their personal data.
