Terms and Conditions for Courses available to the public.

The two Contracted Parties, who feature in the rights and obligations mentioned in the following provisions, include students, whose personal data is used to fill in the application form, and the Language school PELICAN, LTD, company num. 269 50 189, headquarters Lidická 9, 602, 00 Brno.

General Provisions

a. By applying to a course available to the public, the student is entitled to the services provided by the school and any requirements laid out within the framework of the stipulated course type. The school is responsible for providing these services. For more information on the course, please consult our main webpage.

b. Registration for a course can either be done online, on the school’s website , or at the school office. Registration at the school’s office is valid after completion of the registration form and the course payment has been made in accordance with the payment terms and conditions. Registration for a course through our school’s website is valid after the online application form has been submitted, the student has received a confirmation email from the school and the course has been paid for in accordance with the school’s payment terms and conditions. Reimbursement is through either bank transfer or in cash paid at the school office. Once the application has been confirmed by the school it is then the student’s responsibility to pay the course fees by way of either of the aforementioned methods.

c. While on the school premises, the student is expected to respect all rules concerning the usage of school property. If a student breaks one of these rules than he/she will be immediately disqualified from the course without any compensation.

d. Terms and Conditions apply to every language course available to the public that is run by the school. Any claims made by a student which fall outside the framework of the school’s terms and conditions will not be considered. Extra-judicial settlements concerning consumer disputes are in accordance with law n. 634/1992 sb of Consumer Protection as amended by the relevant Czech Trade Inspection.

Terms and Conditions for Payments

a. Course fees are paid by either bank transfer, cash at the school office or by selected benefit scheme vouchers. Other forms of payments are not accepted by the school.

b. Course fees must be paid no later than seven working days before the start of the course, unless an agreement on the payment of said course fees has been made per the individual. If the course fees are not paid by the end of this deadline then the student’s application will be automatically cancelled.

Warranty and Cancellation Conditions

a. If the school is unable to run a course, then the student’s course fees will be reimbursed in full. In the case of a cancellation of a course the student will be notified no later than 48 hours before the start of the course.

b. If the school is unable to run a series of lessons, then the student may request a postponement to the course end date or the arrangement of a substitute lesson at another time. However, lessons that students have skipped are not a part of this condition.

c. Once the course fees have been paid they are non-refundable, unless otherwise stipulated. However, the student is able to transfer the course fees to another course of the same type. Equally, if an agreement is reached during the teaching period, then the student is entitled to a corresponding part of the course fees.

Terms and Conditions for Individual Courses

b. A student can apply to an individual course either online, through the school’s website, or at the school office. By registering, the student agrees to pay the course fees in advance and at least the corresponding monthly value of the course fee as shown on the current list of prices.

c. Payment can be made either by bank transfer or in cash at the school office.

d. While on the school premises, the student is expected to respect all rules concerning the usage of school property. If a student breaks one of these rules than he/she will be immediately disqualified from the course without any compensation.

Terms and Conditions for payments

b. Students on individual courses must pay the course fees beforehand and at least the corresponding monthly value of the course fee as shown on the current list of prices. Payment of the course fees must be paid for the student to be registered on the database for individual courses.

c. Any further payments relating to the course the student is on will be in accordance with the aforementioned conditions. If the student completes all of the prepaid lessons, then he/she will not be able to attend any other courses until they have been paid for.

Warranty and Cancellation Conditions

a. If the school is unable to run a course, then the student’s course fees will be reimbursed in full. In the case of a cancellation of a course the student will be notified no later than 48 hours before the start of the course.

b. Students on individual courses have the right to cancel a pre-arranged lesson only if the reason given is valid e.g. illness. In such a case, it is the duty of the student to inform the school no later than 24 hours before the lesson both by telephone: +420 549 216 124 and email: jadrna@skolapelican.com. If the student is unable to notify the school in the given time period, then the lesson cannot be refunded.

c. If the lesson is cancelled by the school, then the student is entitled to the cost of the lesson at a future date.

d. If the student cancels his/her application before the start of the course, a fee of 1,000 Czech Crowns will be deducted from the student’s course fees. Afterwards, the remaining amount is returned to the student.

e. The student must inform the school on which date he/she intends to complete the course. The end date must be at least one month before the end of scheduled classes. If the student adheres to the conditions stated above, then he/she will have the remainder of the course fees refunded in full. If not however, then the student is not entitled to a refund of the course fees.

f. It is the student’s responsibility to keep to the agreed upon teaching hours. This can only be changed in exceptional cases and only after talking with the school office.

Terms and Conditions for students on a year-long Czech for Foreigners Course

General Provisions

a.By applying to a course available to the public, the student is entitled to the services provided by the school and any requirements laid out within the framework of the stipulated course type. The school is responsible for providing these services. For more information on the course, please consult our main webpage.

b. Registration for a course can either be done online, on the school’s website , or at the school office. By applying, the student agrees to pay the course fees before the start of the course. The student can pay a deposit which corresponds to half of the cost of the course as in accordance with the current prices. The applicant is then responsible for payment of the whole course. Exceptions can only be granted in extraordinary cases, including the following: refusal of the application due to not being able to obtain a residence permit for the Czech Republic and serious health problems.

d. While on the school premises, the student is expected to respect all rules concerning the usage of school property. If a student breaks one of these rules than he/she will be immediately disqualified from the course without any compensation.

Any claims made by a student which fall outside the framework of the school’s terms and conditions will not be considered. Extra-judicial settlements concerning consumer disputes are in accordance with law n. 634/1992 sb of Consumer Protection as amended by the relevant Czech Trade Inspection.

Terms and Conditions for Payment

b.A student can apply to an individual course either online, through the school’s website, or at the school office.By applying the student agrees to pay the course fees before starting the course. The student can pay a deposit which corresponds to half of the cost of the course as in accordance with the current prices. By applying, the student agrees to pay the course fees for the entirety of the course.

Warranty and Cancellation Conditions

a.If the school is unable to run a course, then the student’s course fees will be reimbursed in full. In the case of a cancellation of a course the student will be notified no later than 48 hours before the start of the course.

b. If the student withdraws his/her application before the start of the course, he/she is subject to a handling fee, corresponding to 5% of the course costs, from the paid course fees.

c. Exceptions can only be granted in extraordinary cases, including the following: refusal of the application due to not being able to obtain a residence permit for the Czech Republic and serious health problems. In this case the course fees will be returned to the student without the deduction of a handling fee.

e. After the start of the course the school is not obligated to refund the course fees.
