Group Courses

When must I pay the course fees by?

Courses fees must be payed no later than 2 weeks before the start of the course. Equally, if you apply later then you can pay the course fees in instalments. Courses fees can be paid either by bank transfer using account number 107-8769920267/0100, or in cash at the PELICAN Language School’s office. If you want to know more about payments then either come in to see us at the school office or contact us by telephone +420 774 742 296.

How many people are there usually in class?

In order for a group course to run there needs to be at least 4 applicants. The maximum amount of students per class is 15, however the majority of courses have between 4-8 people.

How many lessons are included?

A Half-Year Course includes 20 lessons, with each class lasting 90 mins. Lessons take place once a week in the afternoon and in the evening at the PELICAN Language School’s headquarters at Lidická 9, Brno.

How do I know which level is right for me?

In order to know which level of Czech you have, you can take our placement test. Tests are available in the following languages: English, German, Spanish, Czech, French, Russian and Italian.

Who should I contact if I have any questions?

If you have any questions or observations, do not hesitate to come in and see us at the school office. If you want to ask a question anonymously, you can use the letterbox located on the door leading to the school office.

I can’t attend the course. Am I entitled to compensation?

As stated in the Terms and Conditions: Course fees cannot be refunded. Students may transfer the costs of one course to another course of the same type. If over the period of the course the student decides to pull out of the course, he/she will be entitled to a corresponding amount of the course fees. If you cannot attend the course, please contact the school office for further discussion.

Individual Courses

What is an Individual Course?

Individual Courses at PELICAN Language School operate on a pre-determined end date. The day, time and frequency is to be decided through discussion with the school and the teacher. If otherwise stated, the course will take place on the school premises at Lidická 9.

How can I pay for individual lessons?

The price for a 60 minute lesson is 600 Czech Crowns whereas a 90 minute lesson is 800 Czech Crowns.

Courses fees can be paid either in cash or by bank transfer at 107-8769920267/0100. Please note that you should present us with your identity card, which will help us to speed up the payment process.

Payment should be made no later than the day the course starts. If you are paying via bank transfer, then please take confirmation of payment to your first lesson or send it in advance to one of the emails listed. The last possible date to pay for the course is 1 month before the start of the course. The next payment block is at least a month before and always on the last day of the month, so that we can calculate the number of the lessons and inform the teacher.

I can’t make it to the lesson. Does that mean I fail?

If you cannot make it to one of the lessons, in this case you must inform the school no later than 48 hours before the start of the lesson. If you do not manage to make it to the arranged lesson or notify the school in time, then the payment for the lesson is forfeited.

I would like to change the lesson time. Who should I talk to?

If the lesson time does not suit you: Firstly, discuss with your teacher concerning a change in your lesson time. Secondly, contact the school either by telephone at +420 725 441 935, +420 549 216 124 or by email info@skolapelican.com. If during this time there is a free time slot, then your lesson will most likely be moved.
