On June 2018 in Liverpool, the UK, Multilingual Families Clubs project held a Joing Staff Training Event, hosted by the MBM Training & Development Center, the British partner in the project.
Each partners took part in the JSTE with 4 participants, representing Italian, Polish, Czech, Turkish, British and Swiss multilingual community managers and trainers in multilingual settings.
Participants discussed the local and European context of multilingualism; including the lingustic rights, minority language protection policies and the framework in each partner country. Those were linked with the opportunities of the various lingustic communities to interact, integrate and include, while preserving the rich linguistic heritage in all European regions. A specific stress has been on the obstacles that multilingual families face in each social and cultural reality that partners represent.
An important part of the JSTE was the exchange of applicable training methods, good practices and innovative pedagogical and andragogical approaches in mulitilingual education and community management. The group experimented with Forum Theatre methods and found them useful and applicable in multilingual educational and management settings.
A productive and enjoyable event overall, the JSTE was a logical continuum of the project activities, boosting the networking, debate and professional exchange among partners.
