Who stores and protects my information?

The company in charge of handling your personal data is Jazyková Škola PELICAN, Lidická 695/9, Brno, 602 00, registration number 26950189 registered at King’s Court Brno, Section C, insert 47626 (hereafter referred to as the Administrator).

When is my personal data used?

Your personal data is used when applying and distributing newsletters as according to Regulation (EU) No 20161679 of the European Parliament and of the European Council on the protection of individuals with regards to the processing of Personal Data and the free movement of such data and repealing of Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) (hereafter referred to as the ‘Regulation’).

Regarding subscriptions the following personal data is used:

-Email Address

-Name and Surname

-Telephone Number

-Address

-Date of Birth

-Payment Method

The personal data listed above is essential for the language school’s organisation and records and also allows the school to communicate with its students. The use of aforementioned data is validated under Article 6 Para. 1(a) . b) Regulation. The Administrator will keep a hold of this personal data for a maximum of 3 years starting from the date the subscription is made, unless the student agrees to further use of said data.

When distributing newsletters, the following data is used:

-Email Address

-The student can cancel his/her subscription to the newsletter at any time. The administrator will keep hold of this data for a period of 5 years, starting from the day the subscription is made, unless the student agrees to further use of his/her data.

What are your rights?

Please note that under the Data Protection Act a student has the right to

  • Ask the company how their personal data is used, and any potential copies which have been made of this personal data.
  • Ask the company why his/her personal data is being used.
  • Request the company access to his/her data and have it either updated or corrected.
  • Ask the organisation to erase his/her personal data- by erasing his/her personal data from the organisation’s records all cooperation between the organisation and the student is terminated.
  • Contact the organisation, the Office for Personal Data Protection or the court if he/she has any doubts about the organisation’s compliance with its legal duties surrounding the use of personal data.
